Yoav Farhi - Numismatist
Yoav Farhi is an archaeologist and numismatist who is currently researching his Ph.D on "The Coinage of Gaza in the Hellenistic and Roman Periods" at the Institute of Archaeology, Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Yoav's main research interests are Jewish coins and the coins that were minted in the land of Israel during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Yoav gained considerable experience as a field archaeologist at various sites in Israel. Since 2005 he has served as an area supervisor at the City of David excavations (visitors center area), and has been co-directing the Community-based excavation at Givat Sher in Modi'in. Yoav has been the numismatist at several on-going excavations, notably at the two excavations mentioned above as well as at the Dor and Ramat Rachel excavation projects.
